AUSTIN, Texas - Texas still expects strip clubs to pay its "pole tax" while the state appeals a ruling that declared the fee unconstitutional.

The state comptroller has sent a letter to strip clubs saying that the fee is active and that the first reports and payments are due Monday. If they aren't sent in, a 5 percent penalty takes effect.

Strip clubs have vowed to keep fighting the fee.

"It's a grave injustice that the attorney general and the comptroller would use procedural court technicalities to continue to trample on the rights of these business owners," said Stewart Whitehead, attorney for the Texas Entertainment Association, which includes more than half the topless clubs in Texas.

Last year, the Legislature overwhelmingly approved a $5 cover fee on strip club patrons and designated the $40 million to be collected annually to sexual assault services and health insurance to the poor.

State district Judge Scott Jenkins found March 28 that the fee was an illegal tax on "expression that, while politically unpopular, is nevertheless protected by the First Amendment."

He declared the law invalid and issued an injunction against collecting the fee. But an appeal by Attorney General Greg Abbott automatically suspended the judgment and the injunction.

"It is ironic that this industry, which used the courts to thwart the state's sexual assault prevention efforts, is criticizing the attorney general for using that same court system to defend a Texas law that benefits and assists sexual assault victims," said Abbott spokesman Jerry Strickland.

Now there is a fee for strippers who use the pole, for all my brothers who actually like strip clubs, "...Ain't that about a Bitch..."

Artist Spotlight: Teyana Taylor

Hey whats going on? MuzikHand here. Just wanted to make a posting about an up and coming artist that my man Jay Jackson has been A&R'ing. Her Name is Teyana Taylor and She is dope. I had the pleasure of seeing her perform and meeting her afterwards. Very cool young lady. I know some have seen the My sweet 16 and may have thought she was a brat, but in person, she is not like that, she was very down to earth and friendly. She posed for a picture and even gave me a super soul sister to soul brother dap.

So Since she is the TEEN PRESIDENT. MuzikHand The A&R is endorsing her. That's right she's got my vote and she got my BET vote as well. Her video "Google Me" can stay in constant rotation if we all vote to make it number one or keep it on the countdown.

I will also say I have heard her album and it is FIRE. The production is good and her talent shows. So all those who are interested in hearing more, when you finally do get to listen you will be pleased at what you find.

She has a hell of a style, she gets jigg (she's from Harlem what do you expect?) Everyone from uptown is flashy with it...Check out how she can rock a Dress with Kicks on!!!

Yeah I definitely snatched that one off of Concreteloop they had a "Who Rocked It Better?" column and I definitely thought Teyana Stole the show, because of the Kicks. But D. Woods Was a close second. (D. Woods from Danity Kane, Bad Boy).

People respect Teyana's Style So much that she was even featured in the Rip The Runway fashion show...

Luckily, Her album is completed and she will be coming out very soon. So look out for her because she worked hard. She's a young sister with a lot of drive and ambition and she is SUPER FOCUSED ON BEING SUCCESSFUL IN THE MUSIC INDUSTRY.

I had gotten a chance to see her perform and she ripped that shit. I was mad excited to see how well she did on stage. She is Awesome!!!

Then After the performance my man Jay Introduced us and she had a great warm spirit. She's very down to earth contrary to what people believe from what they seen on "My Sweet Sixteen". Teyana has a dope personality, so she gets the MUZIKHAND ENDORSEMENT

Hey whats more embarrassing than being at work and getting on the elevator for Dolo and feeling like "yeah I can get a fart off and no one would even know it was me..." Yeah so I was in the elevator going up to the third floor and I had a mega gas bubble in my stomach. So the only way to cure the pain was to Break some wind. So I let one Rip. It was a dangerous ass fart too. The Dangerous ones Say City Names and shit. This Particular one Yell out Brrrrrmp(mississippi). I thought I spilled something Meng. It was like that fart that you be like fuck it and let it go but you don't expect the force of the let go to be so sever that you almost shit on yourself. So as soon as the door closed on the first floor BOOM.

Usually I am comfortable with my own gas I mean Its mine and I been farting for 25 years already so fuck it, whatever. But damn this one Stunk Bad. This fart Made my eyes water and all I could think about was "...I hope no one walks in on this...cause they might pass out..." and then what happens the shit stops on 2nd floor and a coworker that I don't really say more than Hi and Bye to gets on the elevator. So now this is personal. Someone knows something personal about me. Let's be serious Farting is personal. You usually don't do the shit in public if you in a tight situation u wait till u outside then you let it out.

So yeah I let it out and I ain't even wanna look at them because I know they was like GOT DAMN...So yeah that was mad embarrassing. I know they gonna talk behind my back. Man, I am beyond Tight. I was casually walking through Time Square about a week ago and I saw an African Brother selling Shutter Shades. I almost threw up. I have copped two pairs of Shutters (one blue, one red) and I haven't worn them shits like a good fashion person with fashion sense wouldn't because the occassion has to be right. I have to be somewhere that calls for that particular attention. You can't just go outside with them shits on and be on the train. You have to be at a Industry event where you're surrounded by a whole bunch of hipsters or something. At least that is how I perceive it.

Now, A friend of mine from College, who also has a Blog entitled, "Yo Go Blog Yourself!" http://yogoblogyourself.wordpress.com/ you can go check him out as well. very cool site to be on, besides MuzikHand The A&R. At Any rate I would like to take a look at shutter shades. Now when I did wear them people, in a low but audible voice said, "Yo he got the Kanye West glasses on..." or "Oh this nigga think he Kanye..." I mean NY is filled with Haters, Thats right if you don't like what I ROCK, you're a fuckin Hater. Anyway, I love yall with all my heart. Now the new generation is only familiar with Kanye Wearing the shutter shades. Being 25 and having an older brother who was a teenager during the eighties and growing up around older people as a youngin I was exposed to Hip Hop Culture when it was a sub culture and we had things that were Cult Classics. One cult classic in particular was "The Last Dragon"

Bruce LeRoy had an arch-nemesis name Sho-Nuff (I know that shit sounds mad funny) and Sho-Nuff was like a ShoGun, but we put our spin on it (shogun>ShoNuff) (Bruce Lee>Bruce LeRoy) (Enter The Dragon>Last Dragon). Here is another point where ORIGINAL PEOPLE CAN RECREATE ANYTHING AND MAKE IT BETTER. Well, I won't go that far in this context, because this shit wasn't fuckin with Enter The Dragon with Bruce Lee, but the movie was still dope nonetheless.

So anyway I was doing my regular blogger duties trying to get traffic and showing love to other cool blogs and bloggers and I came across a blog that had my young cousin in the Headline Photo and I was mad hype, but first I had to hit her up to make sure it was her and IT WAS!!! I am so Proud, she is doing her modeling thing I assume, and she is the cutest ever, if anyone is interested in paying her to model, let me know and I will contact her. I am not going to take too much time, but while sitting in my apartment I decided to write something on things that are played out that really urk my nerves, for instance. I can not stand to see skulls on any article of Clothing. Skulls have been over saturated and they are no longer cool to wear, unless they are on your socks or boxers, other than that Skulls on Shirts and Jackets and hoodies and fucking baby bibs and shoe laces, its getting to be ridiculous, unless they are on your dress socks when you have on a suit, it shows ooomph!:

I mean its just not rebellious anymore. I feel sorry for all the clothing designers who are just getting into pressing or printing clothes who have decided to put skulls on their clothing. PLEASE RE-LOCATE AND RE-TRANSMIT. SKULLS ON ANYTHING MADE AFTER YOU READ THIS IS LAME!!! I REPEAT SKULLS ON CLOTHING AFTER YOU READ THIS IS LAME!!!

So yeah skulls are just about as dead as the ones above. Stop rocking them on your clothing please!!! Moving right along...speaking of fashion don'ts nothing looks more cheap and bummie than niggahz in Scarface leathers or Scarface anything. Moving right along, now this next topic is very dear to me, because I had to change the way I dressed because a whole punch of posers started imposing on my style. I am from the hood, to better clarify that, I am from the Urban setting, basically I am from Brooklyn. Where I am from people were into moving weight and boosting. they boosted because they loved being exclusive and FLY. Taking from the chapter of wanting to be fly, one tends to want to set themselves aside from the rest and be unique. So when everyone was wearing throwbacks and listening to Jay-Z I started listening to alternative music and wearing different clothes.

Circa 2003, shout out to everyone who was early on the Van's Wave, because I know people were looking at my shoes "like what the fuck is he wearing?" This was me in college. the style was nothing special at college because everyone just wore like whatever, but when I returned to the "hood", I got a whole lot of strange looks. So it was this whole skater look that I had and I didn't even skateboard. Anyway, my point now is that I am FUCKIN SICK AND TIRED OF THE ROCK STAR LOOK. HIP HOPPERS AREN'T READY TO PARTY LIKE ROCK STARS!!! Have you ever been to a Rock Concert in the middle of a MOSH PIT?!?!? It is Totally fuckin insane. Hip Hoppers wouldn't go for that because some niggahz might get tight if someone stepped on they fresh kicks that match they Scarface leather and Skull clad shirts and bandannas and all that Donut shit. Its Aiight to have a little Cellulite!

Since the Majority of America has unhealthy eating habits

it should be no surprise that most women don't have "perfect" toned bodies

But who is the Authority that says that a little extra poundage isn't "PERFECT"

In the hip hop culture, thickness is like DIAMONDS AND GOLD

That is because Melanated people come from a background where being THICK has always been attractive, well now of course some melanated women don't like their curves, but it seems like white women do and have for centuries.

As you will see the Curves of Black Women have been admired by many. This past weekend I came across a DVD by a Brother named Hotep:

Wanna Know something Weird? I can actually visualize things that I can not explain in English when I listen to music. I can not explain it in any other language for that matter, its a language that only I know, and the only way I can articulate it is by consolidating the general sentiment or mood of the experience and then I find lyrics that reflect that [that's only when I am writing to the music].

That Brings us to today's topic which is the title of the new N.E.R.D. album, which is called "Seeing Sounds" to be released June 2008 (There's a SONG CALLED, "SPAZZ" IT'S RIDONKULOUS!) THE WHOLE ALBUM IS DOPE. Anyway, I totally know what they are talking about and that album is dedicated to all of us who have this neurologically-based phenomenon in which stimulation of one sensory or cognitive pathway leads to automatic, involuntary experiences in a second sensory or cognitive pathway. This is called Synesthesia. As an ORIGINAL MAN with KNOWLEDGE of SELF, I am indifferent to the attack on and the attack against Melanated People. There's so much power in paying someone attention, nonetheless allowing someone to have the unyeilding power to name you or call you something that you're not and allow it to have such a deep impact that you may hurt someone or hurt yourself. Hurting yourself may include rejecting your identity. For example. If someone were to call a Black WOMAN a "nappy headed ho" and she subsequently decides to perm her hair from now on, Thats hurting yourself because that is not how the CREATOR designed you. Curly Hair and tight curly hair is a natural protection given to a people who have occupied this planet for millions of years.

At any rate, I didn't mean to digress from my point. I type before you today my assertion to not let those images that CORPORATE CONSCIOUSNESS sets forth to brainwash me and the same should be the sentiment of the intrigued masses who visit my blog. It is highly unrealistic for any beautiful black, white, hispanic, or asian woman to want to fight over a MAN that people would walk pass everyday on the street if he wasn't Flavor Flav. The Flavor of love show is SUPER unrealistic. Its a Tell-Lie-To The Vision (Television) Programming which aims at breaking the moral fabric of women's minds and cause stereotypic confusion within the cultures that are influenced by HIP HOP. The show promotes a lot of foul shit. They are doing a season three because the programming isn't done. More and More women are going to look at this image of a black man as their way to getting their endeavors off the ground (GOLD DIGGIN STEREOTYPE). That is by far the most diablolical thing CORPORATE CONSCIOUSNESS can do. They are exploiting a hip hop legend, in order to promote an agenda that attempts to break down the moral fabric of some women in our society. Flav was apart of PUBLIC ENEMY!!!

They declassified the Brother from his stronger status as a respected HIP HOP ICON through programming. First he was on the "SURREAL" Life. What does surreal mean? hmmmm, well according to dictionary.com, it means having the disorienting, hallucinatory quality of a dream; unreal; fantastic. (Anyone who watches these shows consistently is not functioning at full capacity, because a healthy mind wouldn't want to see such garbage)[editor's note. I am not holier than thou, I watch the show too:-D] Then he was on a European show called The Farm and then there was Strange Love. Flav ain't the best looking and neither was that chick and it was just fucking weird to see that shit. C'mon Flavor Flav from Public Enemy and Brigitte Nielsen?!?!? They showed him act out the negative stereotypes of a black man, which are abandoning his children and disrespecting their mothers and then not paying child support and to cap it off, He Betrays his brother CHUCK D.

Its real ill how they BLEND and IDEAS and fabricated ARCHETYPES so many different images in order to corrupt the minds of America. I am not like Flavor Flav. Not all black men are like the Flavor Flav that is acting on the show and not all women want that in a man. What does he really have to offer these young women? Nothing. Just a shot at FAME and humiliation. They only want to be with a celebrity and use him as a stepping stone in order to attain more fame and noteriety. Vanity at its HIGHEST FORM! But what do u expect in a Capitalist Society?

I know I am not the only one who seen this chick (Paula Abdul) say she wanna "sqoosh you/squeez you..." and twist American Idol Contestant David Archuleta's Head off and hang him from her rear view mirror. How is that an appropriate response for someone who just sung onstage. I wanna point out that Simon and Randy is fucking crazy as hell for even acting like nothing happened, like they ain't hear the dumb shit that be coming out of Paula's mouth (craziness I tell you). I never see the camera pan to the left or right to get a reaction from those dudes (There Reactions should be something like, "Yo Is this Bitch Serious?!?!?...or "What the Fuck Did...Wait What?!?! You Said Wait?!?!?) Nah everyone just keeps on going like she is making sense and that shit is annoying, because i am much more interested in finding out what the fuck she is on, rather than hearing all about Britney Spears. Britney's album is actually HOT by the way.

Yeah thats some crazy shit if you ask me. If you remember back in the days. Paula Abdul, Janet Jackson and a few others were like the original Britney Spears and Christina Aguilera's (I Prolly Fucked her name all up). Now look at them twenty years later looking twisted. Its a CD/DVD Package which presents some of the hottest up and coming aspiring artists out right now. The mix tape includes, F.D.H., J. Ronin, Sav Killz, R.N.G., and Zar. Each featured artists are interviewed and asked about their views on today's music industry and the difficulties they face as aspiring artists. It's very informative and the DVD comes with a CD which includes all of the featured artists music, all for the reasonable price of $5.

MuzikHand has christened himself as an independent A&R Consultant. He plans to make music expression, of others, more easier and accessible, by way of his mix tapes. He will allow up and coming artists the opportunity to be heard on a national level. He claims, "...as long as the music is good, which would be, like the production value, how its engineered and the overall quality...if all that is good and your content is creative and thought provoking or just essential, then I want to give you a shot. Just make sure you come correct and your **** is hot..."

MuzikHand has interned in the music industry and has a lot of connections with a lot of big names, however he feels that sometimes people in the industry "take themselves too seriously". He says, "...Its almost like a brotherhood, or secret society, you gotta know someone to get in and once you in you gotta kiss a whole lot of ass, from my experience, to get anywhere." MuzikHand isn't satisfied with the status of just saying "I'm in the industry" or feeling superior because he name is on a private industry party guest list, he actually wants to do something to change music and isn't waiting for anyone to mandate how he can make or should make his changes.

He has started his own manufacturing company where he presses up Cd's and DVDs to cut costs and eliminate any middle man as much as possible. So it thus, becomes increasingly easy for MuzikHand to put out mix tapes or albums whenever he wants, because he has the machinery to make 500-1000 units per week. "...In order to change the state of Hip-Hop, you have to be proactive and not reactive, too many people are talking about what is wrong with the game instead of fixing it, I don't make songs complaining about how ****ed up it is, I just make music about how I feel and talk about relative ****, in hopes that someone appreciates my honesty in music and takes it as inspiration to create something different themselves, for themselves and potentially for the world at large...as long as your "musical different" is well done production wise and people aren't too alienated from where you're going, I feel this emergence of feeling free to be outside of the box will spread..."

MuzikHand has a few more projects that he is working on and is in talks to work with well known NYC night-club DJ, The Untouchable DJ Drastic. He also plans to continue his "I'm Doing Me" DVD/CD Series. Stay Tuned as more shall come and things will slowly begin to change for the better for music.
